Byron Motosports Park

Byron Motosports Park is Northern Illinois’ premiere motocross facility. The park draws riders in from all over the country with its world renowned NUCLEAR SERIES. As one of the oldest motocross tracks in the country, the park has hosted many of today’s top pros. The park prides itself on making your experience as safe, fun, and challenging as possible. The sport of motocross instills work ethic, builds determination, and brings families closer together. The park is proud to embrace the core of motocross with a family environment that creates memories and builds dreams. So whether you are an aspiring motocross pro, an amateur national title contender, or someone that just loves to have fun in the dirt, come out and see why Byron Motosports Park is the place to get dirty.

History

Opened in 1969 by Joe Vincer, Byron Motosports Park has been motocross home to many riders over the years. In 1990 the track was purchased by Aaron Vincer.  Being one of the first to incorporate a watering system, wood chips, & starting gates the park quickly gained national recognition. Motorsports Park was one of the first tracks to offer manufacturer contingency known as the Nuclear Series. This created a major draw to the park. In 2005 a second track was added to the facility, referred to as the Hilltop track.

More recently the park has sanctioned hare scrambles and grass track racing, tractor pulls, and Rally cars along with the ever popular and growing sport of motocross; Motorsports Park now offers groomed track practices on off weekends.  Unofficially Motosports Park has run more MX events than anyone in the country - 1200+ events and counting. In spring of 2011 world renown track builder Marc Peters was contracted to redesign both the Legacy and Hilltop tracks. With the help of the Ziesk and Kelsey families the park continues to improve each season.

We continue to add more sand, wood chips, and dirt to keep the course in prime condition. The future at Motosports Park is bright and we hope that you are here with us to share in the memories.
